Throughout 2024 we planned a highly versatile space for an ambitious client in the Quantum Computing sector. We helped to arrange a perfect location to build such a facility, in a former industrial complex which allowed to host such complex infrastructure. There, the client plans to assemble, improve and ship custom Quantum Computer systems to their customers.

Building a lasting facility in the quantum technology sector begins by analyzing your exact workflows and machines. Once we map out the specific demands of large equipment like the Big Fridge, we develop an initial vision for the space. This means intelligent space planning with a zoning concept designed to guarantee the absolute shortest routes for your testing and assembly.
Find
The client reached out to us while actively searching for a location that could handle extreme structural demands. By tapping into our network, we secured the ideal quantum facility space in just one week. After evaluating two different units against strict infrastructural requirements, we chose an industrial building perfectly matched to their technology. It delivers massive power capacity, heavy floor load support, minimal vibration, and plenty of open room for future growth.
Design
The quantum computing sector moves incredibly fast, meaning a static layout simply would not work. We solved the challenge of fitting highly technical requirements into an existing structure by making the entire quantum facility adaptable. Through fully movable walls and easily accessible building tech, the client can instantly adjust spaces to meet changing demands in assembly or testing. We also planned years ahead by centralizing essential cooling networks and leaving generous capacity in all pipes to support constant technological upgrades.
Quantum Production Bay
Quantum computers are inherently large, heavy, and highly sensitive to their environment. We designed the production bays to address these exact vulnerabilities. The layout features removable interior walls, allowing the team to safely maneuver massive payloads without pausing nearby operations. To ensure pristine testing conditions, the space is heavily shielded against vibrations and electromagnetic interference. Because heat removal is critical, each bay connects directly to a centralized cooling network. Finally, we reserved ample power and space within every bay to seamlessly support expanding IT infrastructure and dedicated control servers.
Office
Complementing the technical spaces, we designed a welcoming reception area for hosting investors and a versatile office environment that blends quiet focus zones with open collaboration spaces for a growing team. A balance of collaborative spaces, open offices, meeting rooms and closed offices were configured into the existing building while keeping it interconnected to the quantum Lab and makerspace. The client's corporate identity of blue and orange was combined with some elements of Quantum computers to arrive with the materials and mood board.
Quantum Makerspace
The Quantum Makerspace is the dedicated hub for practical engineering. Here, the team can craft custom parts and expertly prepare qubits for cryostat integration. To support these highly sensitive procedures, we designed a series of specialized workshop rooms specifically tailored to diverse technical use cases and strict cleanliness levels.
Build
Developing infrastructure for the quantum era means removing spatial roadblocks so innovators can focus on their actual work. We designed an integrated environment where every zone seamlessly connects, providing a resilient foundation to push the boundaries of modern technology. This seamless connection flows directly from the primary production areas into a welcoming corporate workspace. The client can confidently host investors in a professional setting, alongside a tailored office layout that blends dedicated quiet areas with open community zones.
